The Waiting Game

Mom just had her second breathing treatment. Prior to that she had a fairly long nap. The nice thing about the emergency room at MD Anderson is its private and its pretty darn quiet. Mom's room is cool and a bit dark so she is able sleep. She is able to get up and urinate thanks to a lovely bedside potty. (My life is all about potty time these days ... but that's another story for a different blog). The respiratory nurse indicated that Mom will be admitted due to the high level of oxygen she is receiving. We still do not know when the next test will be done -- they are checking on it now. It was ordered for much earlier in the day but its a hospital and it all depends on who else needs the same thing done. She did tell me that at 8pm they will take more blood and do another EKG. Come to think of it ... maybe she was the new regular nurse versus the respiratory nurse. Anyway ... its already past 7pm on a Friday night so who knows when we will get the molecular thing done.
