Fredrick B. Hagemeister

We met with Dr. Hagemeister a few minutes ago -- rock star I love him! And he knows and loves our friend Krista. Therefore we have even more confidence in the treatment that mom is receiving. He has been in contact with Dr. Thomas who is mom's primary myeloma doctor (Dr. H is the doctor working with patients in the hospital). They have just about completed their work-up of mom's treatment plan ... they needed the 24 hour urine which has been difficult to get due to mom's limited kidney function. They have already started treating the myeloma with dexamethasone a few days ago. Dr. Hagemeister believes that she will be started on Velcade. He stated that for some reason (and they do not know why) it is known to correct the kidney damage done by myeloma. So IF we can get mom healthy enough then she can start the additional drug to attach the cancer.
