A New Day

Dad sat with Mom all night. She was sedated and only seemed to stir when the stuck the string in her lungs to clear any stuff that might block her breathing tube. Appartently they do this every 6 hours or so. It does not appear to be comfortable but other than that she seemed to sleep peacefully. They have already reduced the amount of oxygen she is receiving from 55% to 45%. The doctor stated that they saw some stuff (I think fluids) on her lungs but that it is less than yesterday. They have reduced her sedation enough so that she was able to open her eyes, squeeze hands and wiggle toes on demand. All good signs!
