Radiation #8

Mom did not sleep very much last night. We did not get her into her new room until close to 11pm. They gave her some Ambien again to help her sleep but it did not work. I think there was just too much activity too late in the day ... plus it was a new room with new noises.

Mom did her first visit to the bedside potty. She was really, really weak but she was able to do it -- but we have a long way to go on building her strength back up. Then we headed down to radiation completing treatment #8. For the first time we went by oursleves ... no nurse, no respiratory therapist ... just the transport guy.

Once back in her room she was given her third dosage of velcade. We also discovered that her saturation levels were not high enough -- 88. So respiratory is here now to give her a breathing treatment and hopefully that will do the trick. We have also requested a tent mask ... which is a bit better for folks who are claustrophobic ... if she needs to receive more oxygen.
