Wait and See

We are now waiting and watching as mom steadily breathes. The normal respiratory rate for an adult is 12-20 breaths per minute. For the last few hours Mom has been at 19 to 23 -- you go girl! We started this morning at 1 to 2 under the heavy sedation. So ... now we are waiting, hoping and praying that she can keep on going and get that darn tube out today. Of course ... the tube saved her life and we don't want to have to go back to the tube ... so we are doing our best to be patient.
