Day 11 of Velcade Cycle 2

Mom and Dad headed down to MD Anderson today ... without me. It was kinda weird since I have made every trip since this whole thing started ... my parents are growing up! Seriously, the blood work was draw, the PICC line worked and Mom got her chemo without any issues. It was a very tiring trip and I am sure that she was in some pain ... cause it is darn hard to sit in a waiting room after you have had that kind of trama to your spinal cord (at least I would think so). It takes two to three hours to get the blood work back during the week -- that's a lot of waiting! The good news is that her creatinine was down to 2.1 (normal is .8 to 1.5), hemoglobin a bit higher at 10.3 (this is good) .... but her blood urea nitrogen was at 45 (normal is 8 to 20). The normal BUN rate is 8 to 20 ... so Mom is most likely a bit dehydrated -- something for us to work on tomorrow.
