No Dialysis Today!

No Dialysis! No Dialysis! No Dialysis! No Dialysis Today! This should be sung to the Alleluhiah Chorus! We went to ICU for dialysis this morning but before they hooked her up I asked to met with the renal doctor - Dr. Lahoti. We told him that in the last 24 hours she has produced 1600 cc's of urine and her BUN rate was 20. So he decided not to do dialysis today (yipee!). Then he will closely watch her labs to determine when to do dialysis again. He also mentioned that they may be taking "too much fluid off" which leads to the "washed out" feeling that Mom has been experiencing. So ... we LOVE DR. LAHOTI! And, Prasie God!, Mom's body is improving. She will most likely still need dialysis for a while but hopefully we can slow it down so that it does not impact her rehab and quality of life too much.
