Gram's Heart

We met with Dr. Plana finally and found out that Mom has a very weak heart. If I understood him correctly ... there is one part that is not working at all and another part that is not getting enough blood flow. Her EF is around 22% and normal is between 50% and 55%. Mom's heart rate is over 100 ... actually between 115 and 125 most of the time. So he has doubled her blood pressure medication so that her heart rate can get below 100 consistently. Based on the testing it appears that she may have some blockage in her heart ... but due to the cancer we have to move carefully with treatment. So ... we meet with Dr. Plana and Dr. Thomas on June 18 to determine what Mom will do next. The good news is that Mom is feeling pretty good and she has been able to entertain some visits from her grandkids.
