No More PICC Line
Since Gram is no longer receiving chemo she was able have her PICC line removed on Saturday. That means no more flushing with heprin each night and no more changing the bandage weekly. But mainly it means that Gram no longer has to deal with these two plastic lines sticking out of her arm. Don't get me wrong -- the PICC line was been wonderful in many ways. It allowed her to get transfusions and other medications two to three times faster than a regular IV. But now that sheis doing so much better the need for the infused drugs and blood are rare. Her blood pressure has come down and her heart rate is lower though it still remains in the high 90s, low 100s. We will head back to MDA next week and then we will get a better idea of what we will do regarding both Mom's heart and the cancer.
