Back to Velcade and Dexamethasone

Mom started Velcade again today. It took most of the day to make it happen ... but it did happen! She had blood work, met with Jennifer and Tiffany from Dr. Thomas's team, got a flu shot, got 3 hours of fluids via her IV then finally ... she got the velcade. After lots of running around it was determined that the cardiologists are not sure if velcade caused any heart damage or not. So ... they are going to watch Mom very closely during this cycle then repeat the echocradiogram following the velcade cycle. She was able to drop the lasix and lower her blood pressure medication. She did not get to take the dexamethasone pills until later in the afternoon so she is most likely looking at a sleepless night ... but hopefully the velcade/dexamethasone combination will beat the cancer into submission.
