Here We Go ...

Mom's sedation level has been turned off completely. We weaned her throughout the morning and her blood pressure stayed within range -- with a bit of drug assistance. Elizabeth is holding her hand as I type. Her dialysis started at 6am and will be completed by 9am. Her labs are back and look good -- specifically from the breathing perspective. We should be able to wean her from the ventilator today as long as we can keep her blood pressure under control. Now we are getting her fully wake and then she will have to do some breathing exercises to show that she is OK without the ventilator. Her color looks really good ... so now I pray she opens her eyes and we are able to coach her off the ventilator this morning. I am hoping that she has the afternoon to rest prior to her radiation appointment at 4:45pm.
