Precedex (Dexmedetomidine)

The doctor has ordered precedex for Mom. We are hoping that this drug will reduce her anxiety so that we can wake her up, she can pass the breathing tests then they can remove the ventilator. I am really hoping that she can be off the ventilator before she has to go to radiation at 4:45pm tomorrow. It all depends on Mom and if she is ready. I continue to pray that this drug will do the trick and that Mom wakes up ready to breath on her own. Right now she is getting some assistance from the machine but the doctors believe that is because she is so sedated.
