Temporary Catheter Out
Tonight they took out Mom's temporary catheter. It was quick with no bleeding at all. Now she has a sandbag (really its actually a sandbag) in her lap to put pressure on the area where the catheter was removed. We have ordered an "egg crate" mattress thing so that hopefully Mom can sleep better tonight. Tomorrow will be the final radiation treatment, the final velcade treatment in cycle 1 and hopefully a productive meeting with the rehab team. We are praying that Mom will be accepted into MD Anderson's rehab services group. They only take patients who can make substantial improvement in two weeks or less. If she is not accepted then we will have to move Mom to another place. We know all the players here now and we know our way around the joint -- plus we feel she will get the best care here. So time to pray, pray ... and we are gonna play the theme song from Rocky so that Mom can prove she can live up to the 4 hours per day of rehab which is required in their program.
