EF above 50%

Yahoo! Praise God! Yeehaw! And whatever other comments you would like to shout out. Dr. Iliescu came out of the procedure room beaming. He said he was delighted with the results. Mom's EF is above 50% (which is normal and beats the heck out of 22%). She has 2 main arteries running from her heart ... every one has the 2 arteries but typically one carries the bulk of the load leaving the heart where Mom's arteries are more of a 50/50 split between the two. If we understood him correctly one artery is clear and the other is 50% blocked. This blockage can be reversed with medication so not stint was put in. He also said that the left side of Mom's heart looks perfectly healthy ... in fact, Mom believes she heard him say that she most likely did NOT have a heart attack. He took a sample for a biopsy so that they can determine whether or not the velcade caused any damage to her heart. This is fantastic news that her heart is doing so much better. This should open the door to other possible myeloma treatments which were previously ruled out due to her heart condition. He did say that Mom was really dehydrated and it was most likely the reason the blood pressure medications were making her "feel" so bad ... so we are off to buy a case of Fiji water. It is supposed to hydrate better ... apparently not all bottled water is created equal. Once again, YAHOO!
